2006-Present
Assistant Principal
In 2010, I accepted an offer to become assistant principal of my school in Watts, CA. I held that position for three years and then decided to accept an offer to become assistant principal of a school in Gardena, CA
Principal
In 2015, I accepted an offer to become principal of my school in Gardena, CA. I held that position for two years.
Science Teacher
In 2017, I took a break from administration to return to the classroom (7th and 8th grades) in Silverlake, CA to further develop my teaching skills.
Math Teacher
In 2019, I accepted an offer to become the 7th/8th grade math teacher at my school. From 2020 to the present I have worked in various roles including Open Up Resources community math coach, Illustrative Mathematics certified facilitator, and school site team math lead
I possess a clear California administrative services credential and clear California teaching credentials in introductory mathematics, foundational science, and social science.
I am a data-driven educator and have a proven track record in many areas.

In the 18-19 school year, 44% of my 8th grade students met or exceeded the California Science Test (CAST) standard, outperforming the California state standard met/exceeded which was 30% and the Los Angeles Unified standard met/exceeded which was 23%
35% of my students met or exceeded the standard on the 2023–2024 end-of-year state mathematics assessment. I served as the math department lead from 2023-2025 and helped to increase the percent of students who met or exceeded the standards by 10% at my school.
I own and operate Calmecac Anahuac and Huasteca Nahuatl, websites devoted to my anthropological research on Mesoamerican culture and history. In 2026 I published my first full-length book: The 100 Most Frequently Used Huasteca Nahuatl Verbs
